Villa Victoria
As a Lewis Hine Fellow through Duke’s Center for Documentary Studies, I worked for a year with residents at Villa Victoria, a historic public housing project in Boston designed by and for an existing Puerto Rican community. Through teaching and working with the after-school arts program, I interviewed and photographed dozens of residents, creating a multi-generational portrait of a community over 30 years after its founding. Portraits were given to community members, and work was exhibited on site at the Villa Victoria Center for the Arts and at Duke University’s Sanford School for Public Policy.
